Chopped Liver – Welcome To The Machine

They say it’s one of the most stressful things you can do in a lifetime – move house.

There’s a whole host of issues to overcome:-

You often have to sell your current home first – very stressful.

You have to search for the ideal home to move into – agree on the area, find a house for sale, weigh up the pros and cons, make an offer, worry about being gazumped, structural survey, solicitors, the new neighbours!

You have to start packing, arrange for removals, build up to the big day – where stress levels reach new heights.

Exchange contracts.

Completion.

The Big Move.

Putting everything in order.

Finding out the bits that you thought worked, that now don’t.

I say all this as we have new neighbours today.

I met them in the front drive. Introduced myself. Was very civil. Then I called on B to come down and meet them.
“Hi, Welcome to our street! Where have you come from? WHAT????? You came from Belsize Park to this dump???”

duh... where's this foot go?

The machine hath opened its mouth, engaged tongue – before brain – and the new neighbours are left wondering just what they’ve got themselves into. Perhaps their request not to throw away the FOR SALE sign outside the house may be an indication of where their feelings lie!

Sooner or later, I hope they will grow to understand B’s humour – it’s an acquired taste. Like anchovies. Thankfully, I have acquired the former.

Now there… are 3…. steps to… carry a donor card – ooh, wap wap!*
Just follow steps 1, 2 and 3.
